Public Holidays (Updating Deputy)

What is it?

This procedure shows you how to update the public holidays in the rostering system across all locations

Why we do it?

To ensure our team members are being paid the correct penalty rates on public holidays and to ensure the team member who is rostering is made aware they are rostering for a public holiday.

Who performs this task?

The person who publishes the weekly roster

When do we perform this task?

We perform this task once a year for all Holidays and for all locations.  Amy has a reminder email set to go out.

Login details or access codes

You need to have your own Deputy Log In. Once logged in, click this link https://ed3c7e15035223.au.deputy.com/exec/administration/public_holiday

How we do it

  • Click the edit button.  It’s the middle ICON (pencil on paper)
  • Choose the new date
  • Scroll down, and ensure all appropriate locations and areas are selected (you wouldn’t select Maryborough when updating the Bundy Show Holiday)
  • Then click ‘Save this Public Holiday’ up the top

Additional comments / Good to know

Some holidays recur each year (as they are always on the same date eg Christmas)

Some holidays need to be changed each year (as the date changes each year eg Easter)

Christmas Eve from 6pm is a Public Holiday, we will always close at 6pm on Christmas Eve even if it’s a Friday or Saturday Night.

No need to add a schedule for Good Friday, Christmas Day or Boxing Day as we are closed on these days.

You can Google Search ‘Queensland Public Holidays 2022’ for a full list of holidays.

You need to Google search local show holidays separately.
