Cleaning the coffee grinder

DAILY MAINTENANCE

  • Every afternoon use the double ended brush to brush away excess coffee from the grinder
  • Remove the lid from the dosing chamber and brush around the inside of the chamber so all coffee grinds come away from the edge and ledges inside
  • Brush in under the silver lip around the hole where the coffee grinds come through from the hopper

WEEKLY MAINTENANCE

  • Choose a quiet time and once the Hopper empties of beans, unscrew the nut at the rear of the hopper and remove.
  • Wipe up the hopper with a clean, damp, hot cloth.  You will need to ensure the cloth is hot to remove the oily residue that the beans leave on the side of the hopper
  • Use the double ended brush to brush away and remove all grinds and build up in the plastic area of the hopper (the part that joins to the grinder).
  • It is necessary to remove all residue as this builds up and will leave the coffee tasting rancid or bitter.
  • Before replacing the hopper to the grinder, wipe inside and out with a clean dry cloth.  There must NEVER be any dampness in the hopper as this will affect the beans and consequently the shots.
