OPENING:
- PLACE ALL PERSONAL ITEMS IN LOCKER UPSTAIRS & GRAB THE RAGS if ready
- Ensure you are wearing your apron and name badge
- Log onto your shift in Deputy
- Turn on AC at counter & turn on the amp to play the music
- Turn on the dishwasher Monday-Friday
- Turn on all lights, overhead lights & cake fridge lights
- Count Float – If it’s not $300, have a second person check it and make a record of balance (check under cash draw for loose notes).
- Set up all cakes and slices, make sure every cake and item has a price ticket
- Open main entrance door & put the juice sign out
- Menus – place all food menu except 2 at the door, ensure there are some drink menus at the door also
- Ask kitchen if lunch special board needs to go out
- Turn on lights and air con in dining room & CHECK all tables have been wiped
- Make sure all drinks are pulled forward in customer fridge
- Open front roller door by 6:55am or 7:55am on week-ends
- Put milk order away (Monday-Saturday) ENSURE IT IS CORRECTLY ROTATED AND OUT OF DATES ARE PUT IN THE COOKS FRIDGE.
- Check catering orders for bite size sweets and prepare
BEFORE CHANGE OF SHIFT:
- Clean hot box – click here to see how
- Refill cakes & slices & wipe bench (make sure everything is labeled) – Cook will do this when on shift, if no cook then this is Register job
- Send through milk order to Rum City (Monday-Friday) – click here to see how
- Be sure all your orders in Lightspeed are completed and closed – if unable to finalise an order, be sure to type in notes so the next person knows what is happening with it.
- DO cash count and Process a Cash Clear In Lightspeed and write up (see article)
- Do the banking (Monday-Friday), and take all plastic slips to the bank – click here to see how to prepare the bank bags
