The pie warmer is an afternoon job that needs to be completed before 4pm every day.
- Turn knob to 0 to switch off (don’t turn off at the wall)
- Remove the water cup and empty
- Discard or give away any food
- Remove all shelves, run through the dishwasher (they may require a scrub afterwards and put back through a 2nd time)
- Wipe clean the black silicon sheet from the bottom shelf and replace once shelves are back
- Wipe door tracks, inside and then on top
- Slide out the bottom crumb tray, wipe off the crumbs and replace (wash when required)
- Wipe the doors with glass cleaner and paper towel
- Place the doors back into the tracks
- Half fill the cup with water and replace in pie warmer on the bottom shelf
Hotbox GLASS cleaning procedure
What is it?
How to clean the hotbox glass doors with glass cleaning CLOTH and NOT papertowel.
Why we do it?
We clean this once a day to keep up to health and saftey standards.
Who performs this task?
This task is to be completed by staff members rostered on register shift as per normal when cleaning hotbox.
When do we perform this task?
Explain when this task is performed. This could be a specific time, i.e. every Wednesday at 2pm, or triggered by an event, i.e. whenever you receive a catering order.
How we do it
Take glass doors out of the pie warmer. Spray the glass with either water, trifecta or glass clenaer. Wipe over the glass with the cloth, repaet for both sides of glass. Hang cloth back up against grab and go fridge on allocated hook.
Once the pie-warmer is cleaned on FRIDAYS ONLY, place the cloth in rag bag to be cleaned.
Summary
Overall, we are now using a special glass cleaning cloth rather then the normal paper towel. Doing this over time will save a great deal of money as we wont be using an excess amount of the paper towel. As specified above, this cloth is to be used to clean the glass doors of the hotbox once a day to ensure health and safety regulations are met as well as looking neat and tidy in general.
Additional comments / Good to know
The cloth can be found hanging up on the side of the grab and go fridge alongside with the catering cake price list.
The cloth is to be cleaned only ONCE A WEEK as it wont be dirty enough to have to clean every day. This can be done EVERY FRIDAY with the normal load of rags at close.
