Descaling the Dishwasher – Required Monthly (Rum City Foods)

Items Required

Rubber gloves, safety glasses, Scale Off, hard bristle scrubbing brush

1. Put on rubber gloves & safety glasses
2. Turn rinse /detergent dispenser OFF
3. Turn dishwashing machine off
4. Empty dishwashing machine
5. Refill dishwashing machine
6. Run one full cycle then empty
7. Please ensure you are wearing rubber gloves & safety glasses
8. Refill the dishwashing machine & add Scale Off – 20 ml per litre of water in the wash tank
9. Run one full cycle
10. Inspect dishwashing machine interior.  If scaling is still present, scrub the areas of concern using the scrubbing brush.
11. Close the machine and run one full wash cycle
12. Inspect dishwashing machine interior again and repeat step 12 until you are happy with the appearance of the machine
13. Turn dishwashing machine off and empty
14. Refill dishwashing machine and run one full cycle
15. Turn dishwashing machine off and empty
16. Turn the Rinse/Detergent Dispenser ON
17. Refill dishwashing machine and titrate the detergent
18. Remove top and bottom spray arms from dishwasher and remove all debris – then replace

It is important that all steps are followed as the water pumps hold water even when the dishwashing machine is empty.

You must ensure all Scale Off is removed from the dishwashing machine before using.  You cannot mix even a small amount of Scale Off and dishwashing detergent as this will create a toxic gas!
